Frequently Asked Questions

  1. So, what do you guys do exactly?

ConnectCubed helps companies boost their employer brand, attract better candidates, improve ROI on recruitment spending, and deliver better business results.

We work with you to create a package of psychological games to determine which candidates in your applicant pool are ideally suited and qualified for open positions at your firm.

Because our assessments are games, active and passive candidates engage openly and enthusiastically, giving you rich data on personality and aptitude. (It turns out people love testing themselves!)

For HR technology companies we partner with, offering ConnectCubed as a white-labeled solution differentiates your product in the marketplace, helps you win new business, and offers an exciting new revenue opportunity your current clients will love.

  2. How does it work?

ConnectCubed assessment games form a part of your applicant pipeline. You decide whether to offer them before resume/CV submission, after resume/CV submission, after an initial resume/CV screening step, or after a first interview.

Applicants spend as little as 20 minutes engaging with the relevant games for a given position, and your recruitment team receives an easy to read report on relevant strengths and weaknesses of the candidate. No special training is required to read ConnectCubed's reports.

If you choose, we are happy to also provide a simplified report to the candidate, free of charge.

Because of the fun and easy going nature of our games, candidates often spend more time playing than required. By making an interactive online environment, we can provide richer detail on candidates while presenting your firm as a forward-thinking, innovative place to work.

  3. How do you know it works?

    The data speaks for itself.

Over the course of 18 months of research and development, we tested 4 separate products across 80 different countries with thousands of test subjects around the world.

Our games are based in psychometrics, the study of quantitative psychology, which form the basis of the USD $2 billion pre-employment testing market.

We presented our games without the promise of a job on the other side. Users came for fun and to learn about themselves.

    Here are some data highlights:

    • Job seekers spent an average of 14 minutes playing our games.
    • Candidates answer 79 items on average. Over 4x our stated minimum.
    • Qualified candidates for only $2 in emerging markets, and $4.50 in developed markets.
  4. Who are you guys?

We're a group of game designers, data scientists, industrial psychologists, and business people looking to help companies learn more about candidates for less time and less money.

When psychometric testing emerged 100 years ago, tests were paper and pencil. They still are. We're here to build a smarter workforce with smarter data for the organizations that want to thrive in the next 100 years.

  5. How does ConnectCubed boost my employer brand?

Candidates hate stressful tests. Yet, testing is so effective that 80% of the Fortune 500 use some form of psychometric testing.

Organizations spend billions investing in a positive employer brand. Your career website and outreach efforts are top-notch. You've streamlined your onboarding process.

But putting candidates through an hour of highly stressful testing sends a completely different message. We help by creating a calm, inviting environment for candidates to demonstrate their skills, while giving you best-in-class, actionable data.

Candidates engaging with ConnectCubed games are members of the digital generation; they respond well to games. They're active on social media and community sites. They love talking about ConnectCubed games with friends. We help generate that buzz.

  6. Does ConnectCubed integrate with my ATS/HRMS?

    We sure do!

We know how important it is to streamline your HR processes, and we're committed to making your life easier.

If we aren't integrated with your ATS/HRMS yet, we will do so first thing when we start working together.

  7. How much does ConnectCubed cost?

While cost depends on the type of project, we're committed to giving access to psychometric testing tools to as many organizations as can use them.

We think it's insane to pay $10, $20, or $100 per candidate for a decades-old product that has zero marginal cost to current testing publishers.

Our aim is to impress you and make you a client for life. We focus on the long-term. Drop us a line and we'll figure it out.

  8. Is it safe? Is it EEOC compliant?

Completely. We maintain top data security in everything we do.

Psychometric testing is well established as EEOC compliant. 80% of the Fortune 500 currently uses some form of psychometric testing.

  9. Do I need to be trained to read ConnectCubed's reports?

Nope! We think it's unfair to charge for a test then charge you again to train you to read the results.

We've formulated ConnectCubed's reports to be easy-to-read, at a glance. We want ConnectCubed to support your HR processes, not complicate them.

  10. What does my company get by working with you?

If you're an ATS/HRMS or another HR technology/service provider, you'll get an awesome new product to dazzle your clients and help you win new business. We'll put together a portfolio of mini-games and simulation games your current client base can start using immediately, and we'll work with you to build great new assessment games targeting market segments where you want to grow.

If you're a company looking for innovative recruiting solutions, you'll receive a tailored suite of mini-games and simulation games for your target positions, white-labeled to match your employer brand.

  11. How does ConnectCubed boost my top line revenue?

If you're an ATS/HRMS or another HR technology/service provider, ConnectCubed represents an exciting new revenue opportunity. Our platform partners receive a percentage of sales.

Assessment games are also very new and their potential as big data drivers of new insights is huge. We're sure that having ConnectCubed built in to your product will make new clients that much more enthusiastic to sign up.

  12. I have a really niche business, how could ConnectCubed work for me?

Nothing wrong with niche businesses! (We make assessment games, after all...)

Many niche businesses need people to first learn that the business exists, then become motivated to apply. Through simulation games, we can both educate job seekers about what your company does AND give you actionable data on who would make an excellent hire.

  13. Does ConnectCubed work for entry-level or managerial positions?

The great thing about psychometric testing games is that they're easy to use and can provide insight on candidates at any level of your organization.

While the assessment games for an entry-level position will differ from the games used to assess a more senior candidate, we have off-the-shelf or customizable solutions for you.

  14. Where did this idea come from?

We wanted to help put people to work. We felt that if we could help companies get a better idea about who their candidates are and where they would thrive, they'd be inclined to hire more and people would wake up excited to go to work.

That's what makes us excited to go to work everyday for you.

  15. I have too many applicants. Can ConnectCubed help me filter better?

Absolutely. It's tempting to throw up one's hands when faced with a deluge of resumes. Even the best recruitment professionals get weary after reviewing thousands of candidates.

ConnectCubed provides ranked, sortable output, allowing you to take a closer look at only those candidates who will have maximum positive impact on your organization.

  16. I have too few applicants. Can ConnectCubed help me tap in to new talent pools?

Yes! Games are ingrained into our culture, and simply by offering a game you're likely to attract a group of high-potential candidates.

If you work in a niche industry or behind the scenes function within an organization, offering a simulation game can offer candidates a glimpse of your work life. Those candidates who excel at a simulation game mirroring your business are not only more likely to be a good fit, but they will also be making an educated decision about their new job.

  17. I am not a U.S.-based company. Can I still use ConnectCubed?

Sure! We've worked with clients across North America and Asia. We'd love to work with you, too!

  18. I'm a learning and development (L & D) professional. Does ConnectCubed have an offering for me?

    Yes!

We're big fans of L&D and the work in-house and third-party L&D professionals do to make workplaces better and companies more capable.

Unfortunately, many employees find L&D requirements to be a chore rather than an opportunity. We would love to work with you to change that.

We are always on the lookout for great L&D providers or in-house professionals who are looking to maximize their ROI. We've worked with companies to design fun L&D modules, online simulations, and learning paths.

We also provide hard data on L&D resource usage over time to give you hard data to show the benefit of L&D investment at budget and strategy meetings.

  19. What does the ConnectCubed process look like?

First things first: Send us an email or get in touch through the contact form on this website. We're not salespeople; we're nerds. We don't hard sell. If we don't think we can help, we'll tell you that.

Phase 1: Figure Out What's Broken

We'll start with a call to hear more about what you need and where you were thinking our expertise might help. We usually like to come visit you to say hi and get to know your organization a bit better.

Phase 2: We Use Psychology and the Science of Games to Dream Up a Solution

Once we have a clear understanding of your challenges, we'll say goodbye and retreat to our hut for a few days. We'll pow-wow with our industrial psychology team, our game design team, our programming team, and our art team. (Note: No business people allowed!)

We'll come back and show you some ideas we hope you'll love. In that meeting, we're looking to share our thought process with you and get your feedback. You'll see a variety of options at different levels of complexity. Each option will usually include several mini-games and may include a simulation game in addition.

    Phase 3: We Build It!

Once we've ironed out the business details and project timeline, we'll say good-bye again and get to work building your games!

    Phase 4: Deploy and Measure

Say hello to your new, fully branded secret weapon in the search for great talent!

At this point, we will have integrated with your HR flow and the technology you use at work.

We'll continue to provide you with metrics and work with you to make sure that your goals are being met with the new tools. We know you'll be pleasantly amazed.
